Some day, we will all be one... sandwhich. That's awesome.
I was very disappointed to learn that if I dug through the earth I wouldn't come out in China. I suppose I always knew this was wrong, but never actually checked. The internet is great and all, but sometimes I would rather just be wrong and happy. I mean, who want to go through all that work and come out in the Indian Ocean.
After a little investigation I can report the disappointing reality that the entire continental US maps into the Indian Ocean. But at the very northern tip of Alaska, the opposite point just reaches the coast of Antarctica. And Hawaii's opposite is in Botswana.
What, you have something against making a sandwich with freighters, pirates, merpeople and sharks? A little tolerance people. Don't be so open-faced now.
So, if I dig that hole and the water starts pouring in, will it make it to the other side? I was going to say no because of equal gravity at the center, but I think the water from the ocean will keep pushing it through (if the hole isn't too big). Too bad, as sharks would probably be a dangerous invasive introduced species for my backyard woodchucks.
btw, that was me posting before. I didn't have my blogger cookie on my laptop.
I like your blog, and have added it to my feed reader.
