Time for Heat
I'm a good Yankee, and I can wait a long time to turn on my heat. This week we had the sign that it was time. When I get up from my chair and am displaced by not one, but two heat-seaking kitties, up goes the thermostat!

Awww, cute kitties! Yes, Mrs. Peel and Sassy were like this on "Judy's" chair last night.
P.S.: Life in the Burbs Story #37 -- Apparently the night before Halloween in Jersey is celebrated by kids as "Mischief Night" where they vandalize lawns and create havoc. Two questions: 1) Do they do this in Mass? I don't remember this. 2) Am I turning into a crotchedly old fart? Waaah!
We had a kind of understated Mischief Night too, though it didn't really stop until after Halloween. Some of the things I remember being afraid of were flying eggs, also when kids took bulbs off houses (like xmas type light bulbs) and whipped them at people and things, oh! and when they ran around with spray bottles that they said were filled with Nair. (That last one is kind of brilliant, really. lol.) Most of these happened on Halloween, but some, like the eggs, and houses being TP-ed, etc. definitely happened the night before.
