Announcing...
Oh, did I forget to mention that I am a mom? lol
My daughter, Lyra Catriel, entered the world through a slit in my stomach on Tuesday night, May 1. She weighed 9 lbs 2 ozs (yep, I'm only 5'3"). It was a bit harrowing as the drugs didn't entirely work during the c-section, but the results are an incredibly cute "little" boo. My life is entirely about burping, diapers and breast feeding at the moment. I haven't had more than three hours of sleep in one go yet. It's fairly crazy-making but damn, she is super cool. You'll see.

Holy Cow! Congrats. I can't believe that I'm the first commenter, but I guess all of the other feedback is in person. Hope that all 3 of you (Now, doesn't that sound different?!)are OK.
So, you get to be a Mom on Mother's Day. Nice timing!
Pam (who is in Western MA at the moment) also sends her congrats and best wishes.
Congratulations to both you and Glenn. Our Sprout was born via C-section after 36 hours of labor... We had so many problems with nursing at first. 33 months later, I'm thinking that the problems *STARTING* nursing were a preview of the problems *STOPPING* nursing.
My best piece of veteran parent advice, as wonderful as it is to watch them sleep, you need yours too... Oh, and enjoy the sleep nursing... (When she's sleeping and dreaming of nursing and she seems to suckle in her sleep...) Sprout almost never does it anymore and I miss it more than I ever thought I would.
