Idea for You

I found a 10AM baby-friendly movie the other day which surprised me as it was so early. It reminded of a long standing idea of mine. Please take this idea and make a lot of money: Offer movies at 7AM. Commuters can miss the traffic, see a movie while eating breakfast and having coffee and then go to work.

Your idea rocks my non-baby styled world. Even a kinderless cad like myself would love to catch a flick before I had to be back into the daily grind each a.m!

We just saw "The Golden Compass", btw. Naturally, it does not even hold a candle to the book but Heather said it was her favorite of that genre she had seen so far (she hasn't read 'The Dark Matters Trilogy' yet) so that bodes well for the film standing up all right on its own anyway.

I, for one, found it reeeeaaaal lacking. But by no means a terrible movie either.

If you're in for a good scare (and you can get Glenn to babysit for a couple of hours!) check out 'The Mist' (no kiddies allowed in this one I'm afraid). I know, I know, but it's so well done for a horror film, and the scariest "monsters" in it are the people (kinda the point I think...). Two thumbs up from here.

Yeah it's getting kind of mediocre reviews. But it would probably take a few movies just to cover all the stuff in the first book well. We may go see a baby-friendly version of it tomorrow. I guess if it were super well done then Lyra would get her name pronounced wrong forever, so maybe that's the silver lining, lol

I don't know if I can handle The Mist on my own -- I require a certain humorous edge about horror movies (like The Host, for instance) usually. (And for the record...glenn doesn't typically "babysit" he mostly "parents." lol)

Woops - by 'babysit' I did mean "babysit" as in watch over while you indulge in an otherwise baby-unfriendly film and by 'Dark Matters' I meant "Dark Materials"... jus' fer the record.

We will be back in town the week of Xmas, btw, and are most likely planning a mass gathering of folks that Wednesday or Thursday night. If you're around do consider a rendez-vous!

We'll keep you posted...
